Frequently asked questions
Which pumps do you service?
We currently offer high-pressure fuel pump refurbishment services for selected N14, N18, N53, N54 and N55 applications.
We also offer N14 and N18 exchange units, subject to stock availability.
Our services cover selected BMW, MINI, Peugeot and Citroën applications. Compatibility should always be checked before ordering.
How do I check compatibility?
Before ordering, check your:
- Vehicle make and model
- Vehicle year
- Engine type or engine code
- Registration
- HPFP part number
If you are unsure, contact UK HPFP REFURBS with your vehicle details, pump part number or photos of your pump before placing an order.
Should I choose refurbishment or exchange?
Choose refurbishment if you want us to professionally refurbish and return your existing HPFP.
Choose an exchange unit if you would prefer to receive a replacement refurbished pump rather than wait for your own pump to be refurbished.
Exchange units are currently available for selected N14 and N18 pumps and are subject to stock availability. A refundable core deposit may apply, and your existing compatible pump must be returned to us.
If you are unsure which option is suitable, contact us before ordering.
What is the turnaround time?
Our standard target is a 24-hour turnaround once your pump has been received. When possible we will post the pump back the same day it arrives with us.
Return delivery time is additional and will depend on the postage service selected.
Turnaround may take longer if a pump requires further inspection or if additional issues are found. If this happens, we will contact you.
Is there a warranty?
Yes. Our refurbished pumps and exchange units are supplied with a 6-month warranty, subject to our warranty terms and correct installation and use.
What is included in the refurbishment service?
Your existing high-pressure fuel pump is professionally stripped, inspected and refurbished using specialist repair methods and replacement components where required.
The exact work carried out depends on the pump type and its condition.
Do you use upgraded components?
Where appropriate, we use upgraded replacement components as part of the refurbishment process to address known wear or failure points.
How does the exchange service work?
The exchange service allows you to purchase a refurbished replacement pump.
A refundable core deposit may apply. Your existing compatible pump must then be returned to us in accordance with the exchange conditions.
Once the returned pump has been received and accepted as a suitable exchange core, the applicable deposit can be refunded.
Do exchange pumps fit every N14 or N18 vehicle?
No. Pumps that appear visually similar are not necessarily interchangeable.
The vehicle application and HPFP part number should always be checked before ordering an exchange unit.
What happens if my pump cannot be refurbished?
If inspection shows that your pump is unsuitable for refurbishment, we will contact you before proceeding further.
Where available, we may be able to offer or discuss an alternative exchange option.
Do I need to remove the pump from the vehicle?
Yes. Our refurbishment service is for the high-pressure fuel pump itself.
The pump must be removed from the vehicle before it is sent to us.
How should I send my pump?
The pump should be securely packaged to prevent damage during transport.
Please ensure any openings are suitably protected and include your order details so we can identify the pump when it arrives.
Can I order if I am not sure which pump I have?
We recommend confirming compatibility before placing an order.
Send us your vehicle registration, make, model, engine details, HPFP part number and clear photos of the pump and we can help confirm the appropriate service.
Can you diagnose my vehicle from its symptoms?
Symptoms such as difficult starting, reduced fuel pressure or problems when the engine is hot can be associated with a high-pressure fuel pump fault, but they can also have other causes.
We recommend that the vehicle is properly diagnosed before the pump is removed and sent for refurbishment.
